Angie Roberts is a expressionist artist, living and working in Leicestershire, England.
Angie studied art to Masters level before following a career in educational project management.
She returned to painting several years ago creating murals and now works out of her studio in Market Harborough, producing two main series of paintings per year.
Angie is first and foremost a storyteller who is fascinated by people and how we evolve into the people we become. Angie uses either water mixable oil or acrylics to paint. Both techniques are dependent on the painting. She uses colour theory and colour connection to builds up the composites of the story within the painting. Then using finer glazes like that of writing, in smaller stokes defining the imagery and personal symbolism and shrouding the scene into time.
In all previous paintings the underlaying theme is to define a story through colour. It invites the viewer to discover their own connection to the paintings. The first set of paintings in a series was the ‘Connection Series’, where Angie first introduced colour clusters defining memories of places and time in a never ending spiral design. This is effectively how all the paintings all begin...
